Departure from Prague to the town of Kutna Hora, an old mining town founded in the 13th century. The town is dominated by the gothic St.Barbara Cathedral with its valuable murals and the former royal mint which once coined Prague groschen. To this day Kutna Hora has retained the character of a medieval city and rightly belongs to the most important UNESCO heritage sites in the Czech republic.
At the end of the tour re-board our coach and continue to Kladruby, one of the oldest stud farms in the world. The famous Kladruby white horses have been bred here since 1770. Horses from Kladruby can be found on many royal courts all over the world - Denmark, England, Jordan. Overnight in Hradec Kralove. Hradec Kralove belongs to the oldest Bohemian towns. In the Middle Ages it was a dowry town of Czech queens. From the 14th century the brick Cathedral of the Holy Ghost has been preserved, while the neighbouring White Tower was built in the 16th century.In the period of Rococo the town was transformed into an extensive military fort. After its abolition and demolition of the fortifications, the town gradually received a new modernistic outlook.
Full day trip to Kuks, a unique complex of Baroque buildings - castle, church of Holy Trinity. The natural park called Betlem - „Nativity“ - includes a series of Baroque sculptures by M.B.Braun, carved into rock, Josefov Fortress, a large historic defence complex from the 18th century. Main purpose of the Fortress was to protect the northern border of the Austrian Empire against the Kingdom of Prussia. It was actually a huge armoury, storehouse for gunpowder and food supplies, and Trebechovice, a unique museum with an exhibition of splendid work of art, a wood-carving Bethlehem from the 19th century with more than 2000 pieces. After breakfast board the coach and depart for a full day trip to Castolovice (a Renaissance chateau with exceptional interiors - remarkable coffered ceilings and collection of portraits of the Bohemian rulers), Vamberk (the town of Vamberk has been well known centre of bobbin lace for more than 3 centuries.Visit to the lace museum) and Litomysl, a representative Renaissance chateau with grafitto decorations built in the 16th century. The town is the birthplace of Bedrich Smetana, the famous Czech composer. Overnight in Hradec Kralove.
Board the coach and depart to Prague via Hradek u Nechanic, a 19th century formal Romantic chateau built in the Windsor Gothic style. The historical interior boasts original rich decorations, fine details of architectural craft, furnishings, art collections. On display are Chapel of St. Ann, a picture gallery, a hunter´s salon, an oriental room and a nursery and Podebrady, one of the best known Czech spa towns. Overnight in Prague.
